Embed an RFID inlay inside both the print cartridge and the printer. Before opening the seal, the printer’s RFID reader senses the cartridge’s RFID tag and displays a message on either the PC which is attached to the printer, or on its display (if it has one).

Problems With The Present System:

1. Multiple numbers of print cartridges will fit a single model of a printer.
2. Similarly, the same printer cartridge may fit into multiple models of printers.
3. There is no easy way to determine which printer cartridges can be used where. This is true for all printers, inkjets or lasers.
